9231 Shimaken (provisional designation: 1997 BB2) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by Takao Kobayashi at the Ōizumi Observatory in Ōizumi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, on January 29, 1997. It is named for Shimaken, a research group led by Toshihiko Shimamoto of Kyoto University.[1]
